Good Times with the Family

We went to the beach last weekend to celebrate Ross and Lara's wedding. We stayed at Splash Beach Resort in PCB, which is a little slice of heaven for a child! There are two splash pads, a lazy river, pools, karoke for kids, and a "dive in" movie. Conner loved every second at the pool, splash pad, and beach. He had so much fun with Baylor and his cousins Tripp and Elizabeth.

Zack and I really enjoyed being a part of the weekend and had a blast at the rehearsal dinner and wedding. It was such a beautiful wedding and a special ceremony. Congrats to Ross and Lara!

Full Force at Fifteen

Conner turned fifteen months on July 1st. I realize that I am a little late posting, but wanted to get a few things down so I don't forget. He weighs 28 lbs and 2 ounces, and feels like a solid 35!! He is 32 and 1/2 inches long, 90% percentile in both height and weight. His eyes are still very blue and his hair is blonde??? I am sure that it is just from being in the sun so much and will turn brown in no time - he is destined for dark hair.

For those of you who don't want all the boring details, please skip the list below :) I have to do it so I can keep up with all the milestones and changes!

At 15 months, Conner....
  • Plays with his toys with more focus and is even content to do so by himself for a short period. Also becoming more and more active by the hour. He can clean out a drawer or cabinet in 30 seconds flat!
  • LOVES the water and has no fear whatsoever!! He has already ridden in the inner tube and even stood up in his dad's hands in the big pool on Saturday.
  • Drinks out of a straw and LOVES popsicles
  • Started saying more words - "dur"-"tee", cheese, and Max to name a few. He is jabbering up a storm and likes to have a conversations with himself. More often than not, I do not understand what he is saying.
  • Is obsessed with shoes! He loves his Crocs and especially all of his Daddy's shoes. He can be found in our closet quite often pulling out all of Zack's shoes and trying to put them on his feet. He looks most adorable in Zack's boots.
  • Is very social - loves people, kids, and animals. He will give "love" by tilting his head against you, which just melts my heart.
  • Loves to clap. Gram told me that she went in to check on him last week after he had gone down for a nap and he was clapping in his sleep. LOL!!

Gone Country

Conner went to stay with Gram and Pops for a couple of days last week. He had a grand time while he was there and of course got to do so many things he cannot do in the big city! He rode a pony for the first time at the neighbor's house - thankfully, Gram took lots of pictures so we could share in the moment. It looks like he had a blast!! I am sure that will soon become a "must" just like riding the four wheeler.

Of course, he was bound to find a tractor somewhere. He is addicted to those green machines and cannot wait to get his own one day.

Fun on the Fourth

We went to the lake last weekend to celebrate the Fourth with Zack's family. Conner's cousins Tripp and Turner, who are both very close in age to him were also there! He really enjoyed having some little buddies to play with. I hope that one of the Bennetts has a little girl soon to balance things out because I foresee these boys getting into lots of trouble.

Zack also took our little man inner tubing for the first time! I have to say I was very nervous, but he absolutely loved it. He was smiling and clapping most of the time (as you can see from the picture).

The fireworks were awesome this year! We even stepped it up and had some fairly big ones coming off of the Bennett pier. Unfortunately, Conner had not had very good naps that day and was unable to keep his eyes open to watch them. I guess there is always next year.

Conner and Baylor sitting on the swing - two handsome little fellas if I do say so myself!

Orange Beach w/ the Montgomerys

We went down to Orange Beach the weekend before the 4th with the Montgomery family. It was a blast!! Conner and Ann Luckett really enjoyed each other's company and it was so fun watching them interact. A few of my college friends came down for the weekend too and it was so great to see them. I really enjoyed meeting Wynn Turner, Lindsay's little man for the first time. He was so precious and I know that he and Conner will be big buds!

Conner visited the Flora Bama for the second time (I know, I know..) and even got up on stage for the baby Idol contest which consisted of he, Ann Luckett, and Wynn. It was truly a sight to behold. I could not get him to utter a single word into the microphone. All he wanted to do was eat it (see picture in slideshow)!

He also started drinking from a straw that weekend (thanks for discovering this Linds :)!), which I was so excited about!! We ordered him and Ann Luckett virgin daiquiris at Lulus on Saturday. They absolutely LOVED them and were adorable sipping out of their straws.

Of course, the weekend went by way too fast, but we did get lots of pictures and made tons of memories. Laura and I just hope that Ann Luckett and Conner like each other when they get older because they have already shared so many great times.

Summer Whirlwind

Okay, I am going to finally play catch up on the blog this week! It is hard to believe it has been over two weeks since I last posted. We have been busy, busy bees and having loads of fun!

I know that this is dated, but we enjoyed Father's Day weekend at home this year. We had been on the go already so much this summer that we decided to stay in town. My dad and mom (Pops and Gram) came over on Sunday to spend the afternoon with us. It was really a special Father's Day and Conner enjoyed spending it with his daddy and Pops!
