Birthday Week

I cannot believe that Conner's birthday week is here! It is so hard to believe that he is days away from being a year old. Although the first few weeks of his little life seemed to go by so slowly (probably the lack of sleep and hormones), the last six months have flown at warp speed. He has already taught me so many things and helped me become a better person. I am truly thankful that God has entrusted us with this precious gift and look forward to celebrating his life all week long. Enjoy my stroll down memory lane...

This and That

A few things to share from the past couple of weeks....
Conner's new obsession is the refrigerator. He loves standing inside and pulling out the drawers.
He met his cousin Janie for the first time in Columbus recently. She was really great with him and he enjoyed her company tremendously. I tried to convince her to come to Birmingham one week soon to help us out!
A very unique horse swing
I am not bragging at all here because I am the polar opposite of a "green thumb" type. Typically my flowers look puny and die a few weeks into each season. However, my pansies look better this year than ever before. Not sure what I did right other than fertilize. I guess they are so pretty that Conner cannot help but notice! He really enjoys picking them and pulling out every petal.

Sliding with Daddy

Zack helps Conner go down the slide when we visit the park now. Conner really enjoys it, although he still needs lots of help. We have officially added this to the park rotation.

Train Park

Over the past couple of weeks, Conner visited the Ross Bridge Train Park twice. First, he went on St Patricks Day with some friends from the neighborhood including our neighbors John and Ava. In this picture, they are peeking out of the window in one of the train cars.
Last weekend we went back with Ann Luckett, Laura, and Charles. He and AL had fun crawling through the cars and pretending to be conductor.

Conner's Latest Obsession....

Is Max's leash!! He does enjoy walking Max, but really just wants to play with the leash more than anything. Poor Max gets rather confused and thinks that he is going for a walk everytime Conner finds the leash. We captured a short video this weekend and wanted to share.

Now We're Walking

Outside with Pops

Last week, Conner and I went to Columbus for a few days for a visit with Gram and Pops. Unfortunately, it was only warm and dry enough to get outside on the first afternoon. Let me tell you - Pops and Conner made the most of it! When Pops tried to bring him inside after his four wheeler ride, Conner started fussing and reaching towards the back door. Of course, Pops took him right back out to feed the deer and whatever else he wanted to get into. I believe that our little man is going to love the outdoors!!

A Taste of Destin Sand

I am a little behind on my posts, but am finally catching up. Conner, Ashley, and I went down to the beach last weekend for a few days. We had a blast and Ashley took so many great pictures. Nana also came down for a week of vacation and we were able to spend a couple of days with her before we returned home.
It was so funny because Conner recognized his turtle float from last summer and started smiling when we pulled it out. He got in the pool every day for a "spin" and also enjoyed a little time on the beach. This was the first trip that he actually noticed the sand and took an interest in tasting it! We are going to have a blast this summer with him on the beach.

Ridin' with Ryan

Last Sunday, Conner took a spin in the Greenside park with his buddy Ryan. We were amazed at how brave he was to ride all around the park without us anywhere near!! I can already tell he is going to be Ryan's little shadow. Fun times in the neighborhood :)

Yea Conner!!

Conner is walking. It has been so neat to see him gain confidence as he goes a little further each time. The cutest part is this.... We started saying "Yea!" every time he stood on his own or took his first steps a couple of weeks ago. Well, now he does his arms over his head and imitates our "Yea!" even when no one is watching him. It is so adorable how they pick up on everything. Here are the best pictures that I have captured at this point. I need to video before he really takes off!

Say it Ain't Snow....

We went to Tupelo for the weekend to stay with Bean, BB, and Mary Bishop. We were able to see lots of family over the visit and enjoyed good times with everyone! We even woke up to a beautiful snow on Sunday, which rarely happens in Mississippi! It was fun to get Conner and Mary Bishop outside for a little bit.

Conner was amused by Mary Bishop and really wanted to touch her face. She definitely notices him more now, but I believe that he is still a little too aggressive for her taste.
