Our Climber

Conner wasn't quite ready for his nap this afternoon, but I decided to go ahead and put him down anyway and let him talk it out. He was in the crib talking to himself for maybe ten minutes before something started sounding funny. I was in the kitchen doing a few things when I thought I heard him on the monitor laughing a little?? Hmmm.. The next thing I know I saw him rounding the corner out of his bedroom. YES, he climbed out of his crib at 13 months! I cannot believe it. He was so proud of himself and looked like an escaped convict or something. We both got so tickled and laughed so hard that I thought he would never go down for his nap.

Needless to say, the bumpers are finally out (probably long overdue) and we will be moving the mattress to the bottom setting this weekend. I have no idea how he did not hurt himself.

Hopefully a picture post to come soon, but I had to get this one down for the books.

Daddy is finally DONE!!

We are so excited to have Zack back at home now that he has finally finished tax season! Conner and I are both so proud of him for making it through another busy season of long hours. We celebrated last week by heading to the beach!!
Zack was in one of his best friend's weddings over the weekend in Gulf Shores and then we headed to Destin for a quick vacation. Nana and Pop drove to Destin and kept Conner so we could attend the rehearsal and wedding. It sounded like they had a blast, but were worn out from the busy boy by Sunday. Matt and Bre's wedding was absolutely perfect - I think that they thought of everything. It was such a special ceremony and we enjoyed time with our friends.
It was so nice to have a couple of days to relax and spend some much needed family time together. I even had a chance to get out in the sun for a little while and loved every minute of it! Conner enjoyed the pool much more than the beach this visit. He didn't really like the sand on his feet and seemed a little confused about where the water went (when the waves subsided) and why it would not stay on top of his feet so he could splash. Hopefully, he will get the hang of the sand soon and we can get busy playing later this summer.

Conner's First Easter

"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead..." 1 Peter 1:3

I spent some time today reflecting on the amazing sacrifice that Jesus made for us. I am so thankful for the cross and the hope we received through the resurrection of Christ from the dead. I look forward to sharing the true meaning of Easter with Conner in the coming years.

We celebrated Conner's first Easter today. The Easter Bunny stopped by and left a little basket for him this morning. (After all, it was just his birthday!) We had a great day and got to spend some quality time together as a family, which is nice considering we haven't seen Zack very much lately with tax season.

I hope that you all had a wonderful Easter and had some time to reflect on our Risen Savior!

Happy Easter

Conner attended his first Easter Egg hunt this morning. He "found" three eggs, but was really more interested in shaking those than finding any more. It was so cute to see how excited the children got once they were allowed to start hunting. I think that he will be more excited about the actual hunt next year.
Conner and his neighbor buddies, Charlotte and Chase.

Later, we visited the Easter Bunny. Conner absolutely loved him and wanted to touch his ears and face. After we got his picture made, he kept walking back over to see the Easter Bunny again. He even pitched a fit when we had to leave so other children could get pictures without Conner in the way.

1st Birthday Party!!!!

We celebrated Conner's first birthday with a party in our neighborhood park on Saturday. Sweet aunt Ashley took lots of great pictures!! Since I had such a hard time deciding on which ones to post I have included a slide show I made with lots of them. I hope that you enjoy.
Conner's First Birthday Party

Thanks to all of our family and friends for helping to make this day so special. Conner had a blast and we did too! We love you all and are truly thankful for all that you do to enrich our lives.

Birthday Continued...

Conner continued his birthday fun at the zoo with his buddies Ann Luckett and Madeline. Afterwards, we went to Sol Atzeca to meet his daddy for a birthday dinner. Charles, Laura, and Ann Luckett joined us to celebrate. Conner was serenaded by the Mexican four piece ensemble which scared him half to death. Both he and Ann Luckett were ready to say adios amigos to the band as soon as they started their second song (of four total songs I might add).

Conner enjoyed his first birthday cupcake and a sweet birthday hug from Ann Luckett.

Happy Birthday to our favorite April Fools

Three minutes ago exactly (1:58 pm) Zack and I found out we were having a boy! It it so hard to believe that a whole year has already flown by since Conner's birth. Zack and I are truly thankful for his precious life and that God entrusted us with this special gift. Conner has enriched both of our lives in so many ways and I cannot imagine life without him.

He is having a fabulous birthday already and we still have a fun afternoon planned at the Zoo. He started out first thing this morning with the discovery of his brand new wagon. Boy, he was thrilled!! He then had his first cinnamon roll for breakfast and enjoyed the introduction to sugar. More to come with a cupcake tonight after dinner. I hope that he will sleep!!

We have already been on a short walk with Max in the wagon and also on a ride to the park for some play time on the slide and swing. Thanks to everyone for their sweet phone calls and birthday wishes for our little boy. They truly mean so much!! Thanks especially to Aunt BB for the wonderful birthday banner she made especially for Conner and mailed to him today. We love you all!!!
