Good Times with Ann Luckett

Last night, we went over to visit our friends Charles, Laura and Ann Luckett. Conner had such a great time with Ann Luckett and absolutely loved playing with all of her toys. He especially loved her kitchen (see previous post about his recent obsession with ours) and her baby doll stroller.

Ann Luckett, being the sweet baby doll that she is, hopped in the stroller and allowed Conner to push her around. He had a blast!! It is hard to believe how fast they both have grown up. We had so much fun watching them interact.

Standing on Shaky Ground

Conner started standing on his own this weekend!! He started with several seconds at a time and has gradually worked up to at least one minute now. He has even taken his first steps from standing on his own, but still falls down quickly. It is so exciting to watch him gain confidence as he tries each time. Of course our reaction only makes him love it even more! It is so precious to see the excitement on his face. I have not captured a picture of him standing at this point, but will post one as soon as I can.

He has also decided to help around the kitchen since I seem to spend so much time in that room. He loves to crawl on top of the dishwasher door when I am loading or unloading. He can be across the house and hear me open the dishwasher door and in one second flat be on top of the door. He also likes to rearrange the pantry items. It is hard to believe that he can now reach the lower shelf. I love watching our little boy explore and discover new things each and every day.

Valentine's Day Weekend

We had a big Valentine's Day weekend! Nana and Pop drove over to see us and spend the night on Friday. We celebrated Nana's birthday Friday and then they kept Conner on Saturday morning so I could run a 5k. Saturday afternoon, we drove to Columbus for my cousin's wedding party. We were able to see most of the Curtis family and had such a great time. Conner attended his first fish fry and even had hush puppies! He had lots of fun and enjoyed meeting some of his cousins for the very first time.

Here is a picture of Pops and Mommy giving him a hush puppy. They were yummy!!

Visit with Miss Ada

Conner and I finally caught up with our friends Ada and Alexa yesterday for lunch. He had a blast playing with all of Ada's toys and destroying Alexa's house. Conner loves Ada and her pretty hair.... I am not sure that Ada knew what to do with this aggressive little boy!

Our Monkey's First Visit to the Zoo

Our friends, Ann Luckett, Laura and Charles Montgomery asked us to join them at the Zoo on Sunday. It was such a fun outing! Conner was cute and noticed the animals more than I thought he would. He would watch them and do a little laugh as they walked or ran by. I cannot wait to carry him back again.
The two daddies and their little ones. Absolutely priceless! This is a huge change from our old weekend outtings!!Who knows what Conner is doing here, but Ann Luckett was checking out the kangaroos. You can see them in the background and were so cute. Ann Luckett has a few things to teach Conner about the Zoo. We really enjoyed this trip and know that it is the first of many!!

Visit with our buddy Charlie

On Saturday, we went to see our friends, Charlie, Lindsey and Sammy Noto. The boys enjoyed the warm weather and playing outside with all of Charlie's fun toys. Conner loved his tractor and cannot wait to tell his Pops all about it. He also loved Charlie's four wheeler and roller coaster. Charlie was a gracious host and for the most part let Conner play with all of his toys. There were a couple of precious moments where he would pout a bit when Conner started showing interest in whatever he was playing with. In particular, he loves his chair and did not want Conner to get near. We had a blast!! Conner cannot wait to spend more time with his friend Charlie again soon.

Busy busy boy

Conner is busy playing these days. He loves all of his toys, but has also recently discovered our kitchen!! How much fun are drawers, cabinets, tupperware, wooden spoons, and especially the cookie sheets. The louder the noise, the better!

He could not decide whether to play with Big Blue of the walker so he attempted both at the same time.
I wish that I got this excited about Ziploc bags! He loves pulling them out individually and scattering them on the floor.

His absolute favorite drawer is the cookie sheets! Those make lots of noise on the tile floor.

Conner's First Graduation

Conner sadly said farewell to his Infant One teachers a couple of weeks ago. We plan to visit them often. He was the second oldest baby in the history of the classroom. His teachers were so great to us and loved him so; as you can guess, the feeling was absolutely mutual!! We are going to miss Mrs Peggy, Mrs Gloria, Mrs Shannon, and Mrs Deidre so much!

10 Months today

Where does the time go? My baby boy is ten months old today. I cannot believe it!! Sometimes when I hold him, I just think back to when he was so tiny and held his legs curled against his tummy all the time and would do the most precious stretching I had ever seen. Although that memory makes me smile, I would not trade anything to go back to those early days!! Boy, that time was rough on this mommy.

Yesterday, we stopped by for a visit with his Aunt Ash. She took some great shots of my little buddy on her new camera and shared them with me. I hope that you enjoy.

Conner at Ten Months

I also wanted to share a quick list of new things Conner is doing these days:

1. He has learned how to talk on the phone.... I cannot imagine how since he has a mommy who often has the phone attached to her ear!!! When he held his toy phone up to his ear the first time, we could not believe how smart he was. I must admit he holds other things up to his ear as well and pretends that they are the phone too. It is adorable.
2. He is obsessed with the toilet. It completely grosses me out and I try to keep the bathroom door closed as much as possible. Anytime he gets a free moment (one where I am not looking), he high tails it to the guest bathroom. It is definitely incentive for me to keep my bathrooms spick and span!
3. He loves real food - he has now tried pancakes, bananas, strawberries, grapes, grilled cheese, baked chicken, chicken spaghetti, fried catfish, yogurt, goldfish, & cheese and loves it all! It is so much fun to try new things with him every day.
4. He loves to close doors to shut Zack and I out of rooms. He thinks that it is the greatest thing ever. If I leave him in his room to run out to get something really quick, he crawls as fast as he can to the door and slams it shut. When I try to get back in, he cackles with glee at his accomplishment.

All this to say, he is a very big boy these days and so much fun! Zack and I are trying to soak it all in because he changes so fast.
